Common problems and solutions of pearlescent powder

A. If the pearlescent effect is not obvious
- Add strong covering pigments or other fillers.
- Re-estimate whether the amount of pearlescent pigment is too much or too little.
- Check whether the screen line and engraving depth of the printing plate cylinder match the particle size of the pearlescent pigment, and adjust the screen mesh.
- The ink transparency is not high or the film is formed, and the surface gloss is not enough. It is recommended to use better ink for improvement. 5. Check whether the pearlescent pigment has been fully dispersed. The agglomeration of pearlescent powder will affect the pearlescent effect and cause other problems.
B. Pinholes or small bubbles appear on the printing surface
- The ink contains water or the powder is poorly dispersed, or dust is generated on the printing surface, which will cause the above defects. Diluent mismatch
C. There are large longitudinal stripes on the printing surface
- The viscosity of the ink should be adjusted appropriately
- Adjust the printing speed and pressure, and increase the screen tension and mesh spacing.
- Check whether the scraper is damaged and replace it if necessary.
Precautions
- Pearlescent pigments and transparent dyes or pigments can obtain unique and beautiful color effects, but if used with opaque pigments, the luster of the pearl will be reduced.
- High shear mixing or long mixing will destroy the pearlescent pigment particles, which is why the pearlescent gloss decreases.
- Low viscosity ink or paint will cause pearlescent pigment particles to settle. Please stir evenly when using.
- Due to the complementary color phenomenon, please do not mix the pearlescent rainbow series products.
- In order to have a good uniform dispersion, please pre-wet the pearlescent pigment, then put in the star anise and solvent to wet it, and then mix it with the pearlescent pigment.
